Display the Current User on a Browser-Enabled Form

Chris

Hi,

I am trying to display the current user in my Browser-Enabled infopath
(2007) form. I've tried using the UserName() function which works fine
in the Infopath client, but when running in the browser window this
function returns "System".

Now, I've read the various threads about using the
UserProfileService.asmx web service to achieve this but this only
exists in MOSS 2007 and not on Forms Server 2007 that I'm running.

Any clues

Thanks

Hi

As I mentioned though, this web service/method isn't available on
Forms Server 2007, only MOSS 2007.

Hello

If you have read this ..It is mentioned
** This works at InfoPath as well as InfoPath Forms Services.

User Profiles is a feature that is available only with Office
SharePoint Server. If Chris only has Windows SharePoint Services with
Form Server, then the User Profile database is not available for him
to use.

Chris, like Clay said, I would recommend a 3rd party AD web service.
There are a few out there that I've seen and works pretty well with
InfoPath

Good luck!
