Display Video on web page

Spike

Several questions have been posted asking how to display video on a web page
using publisher.

http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-Video-to-Flash-Converter.htm

The above FREE program will convert videos to flash and provide the
necessary code that is compatible with publisher.

I tested it using a Canon digital camera that takes movies and saves them as
an AVI file
Using Windows Movie Maker (another FREE program) I edited the movie and
saved it as a WMV file

I then converted the WMV file to a SWF (Flash) file
Placed the code provided by the converter in the HTML fragment box
Edit the size in the code if you want a smaller picture

Publish to the web and post the SWF file in the same folder

That's all there is to it

Additional INFO

Try the FLV output option
The video only plays once instead of repeating

Spike, are there any restrictions with regard to creating a hot link to an
"existing video clip" at a website? In other words, does one have to obtain
approval for linking to a publicly available video clip at some website?
There used to be a big deal made about piracy...

Thanks for the info about video conversion and placement in a .pub file
using a video camera.

Also, when you suggest putting the "code provided by the converter in the
HTML fragment box," is the fragment box an option available in the existing
..pub file or is it in SWF (Flash) file?

Probably a stupid question, but being a greenhorn, I am NOT competent enough
to understand each of the steps in your suggested path to make the conversion
:)

Thanks, Thomboy

Spike, I visited the dvdvideosoft website, and no doubt about it, there are
many valuable downloads for anyone interested in the concept of video editing
and downloads.

They also provide information about downloads from "YouTube," to enable
better downloads from the YT website.

For those who want to receive information about changes in video editing
software, they enable visitors to sign up for their newsletter.

Well worth the time to go to the dvdvideosoft website if anyone is serious
about putting videos on Publisher websites.
