displaying Access data on Word Documents

Dean Collins

Hi,

how can I represent the results of an access2002 query in
a word document as a table and chart? The word document
must update each time the results on the access query is
changes.

Many thanks

Hi Dean,
how can I represent the results of an access2002 query in

changes.
The table is easy enough: Use the Insert Database command on
the Data toolbar.

The chart is going to be a problem, though. You should be
able to select the table and use Insert/Object/MS Graph OK.
But as soon as the table updates the bookmark Word sets that
links the two will be lost. I don't know of any way - short
of using a macro - to have a dynamically linked chart.

If you simply must have this in a Word document, I'd try
using Excel as the "common denominator". Link the Access data
into Excel. Create the chart there. Then use Copy/Paste
Special with link. You can try this with both the table and
the chart, or just for the chart (and continue to use Insert
Database for the table).
