Displaying chart values

Hi all,

When you hover the mouse over a chart, a small box appears under the
mouse showing the series and it's corresponding value.

On the PC version of excel, the value and the category value appear
instead. This is a very useful feature to let you quickly see the
values of a point on the graph.

Can somebody please tell me if this feature is also avaliable on the
Mac version of excel and if so, how do I make it happen. I've tried
checking all the different options for charts, but no luck.

Thanks in advance,

Rocket

I'm not sure what version of XL you're using, nor what type of chart
you're talking about, but in an XL04 line chart, say, you need to select
the series (e.g., click on a point) before the category appears when the
cursor hovers over a point in the series.

I am using Office X and was refering to any type of chart.... but your
reply answered my question and the problem is now solved. All you need
to do is click on the series you are interested in and make it
"active" and THEN when you hover the mouse at any point along the
graph, the little box that comes up under the mouse will display BOTH
the series and category points.

thanks a million,
