I have a P4 3.4GHz EE, Windows XP SP2, with the ATI x800xt video card.
When I insert an image (either from a file on my hard-drive, or from
the internet) into a Word 2002 document - the image is invisible -
only its placeholder (outline) is shown.
The image is shown only after I minimize, and then maximize the word
document.
But when I scroll through the document - the image disappears.
I have to minimize and then maximize the document to see the picture
again.
Scroll once more - the image dissapears.
Doing a google search - the only fix which works is to lower the
hardware acceleration significantly in the display properties;
specifically to "Disable all DirectDraw and Direct3D accelerations..",
which is bad for games.
Is there any other fix for this problem?
N.B.
1. I have made sure there is no tick in "picture placeholders" from
the tools-options-view menu.
2. Pictures are inserted and displayed NORMALLY, even with FULL
hardware acceleration, in both " Open Office ", and " AbiWord " ,
which are freeware versions of Microsoft Word.
So the problem seems to be with
