Displaying page numbers and text on the Off-page connector

Hello,

I've got the same question that's been asked many times here, but have
been hunting around on this group but haven't found a solution yet.

How can I display page numbers and some text on the Standard Visio Off-
Page connector ?

OR the other thing I thought off was to create my own shape with 2
Custom Properties that store the reference text and the page number
then I tried to add the off-page functionality to my shape following
this: http://blogs.msdn.com/visio/archive/2006/06/27/647570.aspx

BUT then my custom properties disappear i.e. double clicking activates
the off-page functionality and I don't have access to my custom
properties !

Any help will be appreciated ! Thanks Alot !

All these operations are independent.
a. You can edit the shape's text using the text tool (I cannot
understand why there is neither a main nor right-click menu for this).
If you have all toolbars disabled then you cannot edit text. (except
for double-click but that may be setup to do something else)

b. Custom Properties are available from the main menu or shape
right-click menu.

c. the shape off-page destination is available from the
Insert->Hyperlink menu. Again, that doesn't make sense if you want to
edit a pre-existing hyperlink. Should be on the Shape menu.

d. Double-click operation can be set up from the menu Format ->
Behaviour -> Double-click.

So, no, your custom properties have not disappeared, just have to be
access via a different method.
