I've had user confusion when users mix up which PWA instance/environment they
were using. They can easily look identical. I came up with a simple and
safe solution. I changed the home page and navigation graphics to identify
the environment.
There are two GIFs found on the Virtual IIS "IMAGES" folder:
HOMEPAGE.GIF: the graphic found on the upper right of the PWA home page
BRANDING.GIF: the graphic found in the extreme upper left of all PWA pages
I changed both, adding "Development Environment", "QA Environment" or
"Production Environment" to the graphic, using MS-Paint. I went a bit
further and replaced HOMEPAGE.GIF with my company logo, before adding the
text.
I then carefully stored all the GIF variations in SharePoint for reference.
Then updated the two GIFs in each environment. Voila! Clarity, and a
professional and custom look. It's easy, give it a try!
Warm regards,
