Distribute Doc?

SoCal Rick

I have a DOT file, with extensive Userforms. I need to distribute this file
via email to a large number of people who will fill in the forms, generate a
print-out, save the file with their responses and email it back. I don't
really understand the relationship between the DOT and DOC files. Any help
you can give me or resources you could provide that would help me, I
sincerely appreciate.
Thank you,
SoCal Rick

I don't know does it help to you - but dot file is a template and doc file
is an usual file. Template always remains intact after you work on it and
save a file (usually then in .doc format)

To: Rick,

The .DOT file is the template, and one normally stores one's macros and
userforms in the template. The template generates new document files. And so,
it would appear that you would want to send out the .DOT file, but get back a
..DOC file.

For how to Create a Word Template, see:

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CreateATemplatePart2.htm
http://www.addbalance.com/usersguide/templates.htm
http://www.microsystems.com/PDFS/sevenlaws.pdf

Perhaps they will give you a better idea concerning the difference between a
template and a document.
