Distribute OWC10 on CD instead of downloading from Microsoft

Office XP Web Components are available for download from

My question is that since this is available for public download? Can we
include the .exe or one of the components (e.g., owc10.dll) on a CD with our
software? We have software that will only work with Office 2007 if OWC10 is
installed and would like to save our clients a step and install it for them
on their machine.

Regardless of the answer if someone can point me to the page or policy that
details why we can/can't do this, it would be greatly appreciated!

The license is detailed in the Office Web Components toolpack for OWC
version 10 which is available freely for download.

To answer your question, no you can't. Licensing rules prevents that.

Thanks for the pointer to the OWC Toolpack. I downloaded the toolpack and
there is no prohibition of redistribution that I can see - do you know of the
location within the toolpack that states this? Is it possible that this has
changed since an Office license is no longer required to use OWC?

Note to anyone else with this issue - you will need Office XP to download
the toolpack.

I recently bought your book and read that redistribution is prohibited.
After reading Chris' question about redistribution and finding nothing in the
OWC license agreement about prohibiting redistribution, I am confused about
your answer. It is especially less convincing when the answer is "It's in
there somewhere...", okay so where is it?

nor did I package it. And no, I don't feel all warm and fuzzy about going
digging for it again.
