distribute the CPU power between two processes

Robert

Hello,
In the Task Manager of Windows Server, we have two queuing processes:
Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.Queuing.exe
- One for WSS
- One for SSP
How can we distribute the CPU power between these two processes?
Thanks

Hi Robert, the CPU power is distributed between these two processes anyway.
Do you mean you have a dual / quad core processor, and you want to set the
affinity of a process to a particular core?

Hi Ben,

I expect to use a dual core processor and I would like to give priority to
one process over the other. Is it possible? How? (General way to do that).
Thanks for your help.

Hi Robert,
Hmm, In general you can right click on a process via task manager and set
both the priority and the affinity. However, I wouldn't advise doing it as
it is totally unnecessary. There are some Q settings in the tool, and these
can be modified, again with caution. I would advise to see how the system
performs before changing these settings, after all, PS2007 doesn't need to be
a fast credit card transactional type system, so performance is viewed often
by the response time of views etc being displayed to the users, and this is
more likely to be SQL I/O rather than anything else....
