Distributing Access 2002 database to users without Access

G

G Colahan

What options are available to provide read-only access to
an Access database for users without a copy of Access 2002?
NOTE: The real-only users are on the same network as the
users who daily update the database.

If you have the Microsoft Office XP Developer's edition,
you can create an installation package that install the
Access run-times with your front-end application so that
the workstations without full version of Access can use
your database. Read/write permission or Read-Only is your
choice in setting up the Access Security.

Alternatively, you can create snap-shot Reports so that
they can view the data using the Snapshot Viewer. The
drawback is that data is not dynamic in the Snap-shot and
someone has to create the Snapshot Reports.
