Distributing Access

Hi All,
I developed a small application on my desktop that uses AccessDB , I also
have a laptop ( that can access the desktop, through a wireless connection)
I want to install the application in the laptop but still keep the database
in the desktop ( which act as a server). Do I need to install Access in the
laptop also? Is there a set of files that need to be redistribuite with the
actual application? from a point of view of licensing (I have one copy of
Access), what is needed?

Thank you for your time, sorry for all these questions

You need Microsoft Access on each PC that will use your application...either
runtime version or retail. So, you'd need to redistribute the Microsoft
Access runtime, which comes with Office Developer or Access Developer
Extensions.

Nevertheless, it really isn't a good idea to open an Access database over a
wireless connection. It is very likely you'll corrupt the file at some
point. Access is very sensitive to connectivity issues, and you'd
definitely see dropped packets with a wireless set up. Your alternative
would be to use Remote Desktop (if the "server" is a Windows XP PC) or
similar software, i.e., PC Anywhere. In this situation, you wouldn't need
to install anything on the laptop, except the Remote Desktop client
software.
