Distributing Visio ActiveX control with the application

Hi,

As I understand from reading the newsgroups, one needs a Visio client
license in order to use Visio ActiveX control embedded in an
application. Could anyone point me to the techical detals and
licensing terms for distributing the Visio drawing control as a part
of the application distribution package?

You have to have a licensed copy of Visio installed on each machine that you
intend to deploy your application on. As part of the Visio install, the 11.0
Drawing Control Type library is installed. Therefore you've satisfied the
requirements. I was on the phone with Microsoft Sales support and this is
what they told me. Depending on the number of clients that you deploy, you
may want to look into becoming an ISV. Here's a link with more info;

The benefit to belonging is you can integrate the Visio install with the
installation of your custom application. Maybe not something that you want
to do on a small scale.
