Found a potential bug using the Outlook 2003 client connecting to
Exchange 5.5 site (yes, it's patched to work with 2003 clients). When
a new distribution list is created from the Exchange Administrator on
the Exchange server, it will not display in Global Addressbook or even
find from the Outlook 2003 client. If I click on "To:" when creating
a new message, then in "Show names from:" and select the site, then
the "Distribution Lists" I can select the new distribution list I
created. Doing a find yields nothing. However, on older versions of
Outlook (Outlook 98, Outlook 2000, Outlook XP) I can see the
distribution list on the Global Addressbook and even use the
autocomplete or "Check Name" feature and it finds it without any
problem. The distribution list also appears on all Global
Addressbooks at all sites and servers within our network on the
Exchange Administrator and also for any Oulook clients pre-2003.
Is there a "feature" in Outlook 2003 that I have not enabled? We are
using a default installation for Office 2003 with Cached Exchange mode
enabled (default option) in the local profile connecting to the
exchange servers.
