Running Outlook 2003 on Exchange Server 2003.
Any distribution lists that I create that consist of only business fax
numbers can not use the "Update Now" button to autoupdate the lists if they
contain more than one entry. I get a dialog box telling me that one or more
of the distribution lists members could not be found and gives me 3 options
on how to handle them. It doesn't matter what option I pick, nothing
happens. I know that all of the contacts in the list exist and are in their
original locations.
As a result, I can't autoupdate any of my distribution lists that have fax
entries. I have about 50 distribution lists, half email - half electronic
fax numbers. If Joe Smith's contact listing is deleted because he no longer
does business with my company, I have 50 lists that could have Joe Smith
listed as a recepient that need to be updated. I have to go into each one
and click the "Update Now" button in order to remove him. Doing this in the
email only lists works just fine. However, the only way I can find to update
the fax lists is to manually delete Joe's record out of all fax lists he is
in. This is a major hassle, especially since chances are I'll have no idea
in which of the 50 lists Joe is listed and have to scroll in every one of the
fax lists to look for him since they can't autoupdate.
There has to be a workaround for this to get the fax lists to autoupdate.
As I said, email works fine. It's just business faxes that refuse to update.
