Distribution lists won't expand?

S

Beginning two days ago, local distribution lists on one of our workstations
no longer expand into individual emails. By this I mean there is no longer a
'+' beside the list in the "To:" field. Also, the server rejects the email
with the following message:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'1st Year Candidates 2009' on 2/26/2010 12:39 PM
501 <1st Year Candidates 2009>: "@" or "." expected after "1st"

I can open these lists and view each of the individual contacts, update them
and edit the list. These contacts reside in the same local address book as
the lists themselves. And again, these lists worked great up until a couple
of days ago. Any idea on where to start? I've already detected and repaired
the installation. This is for Outlook 2003/XP, not using an Exchange server.

DL's are not robust and become corrupt all the time. You can't repair them.
You'll need to restore them from a backup.
Most people gave up on DL's a long time ago for this and other reasons.

Please don't multipost. I answered you a day ago.
