Distribution Lists

I use OL 2003 and have several distribution lists in my contacts. When I
typed one of my distribution lists (Roy) into the "To:" field and sent the
message, it gave the error "The name or distribution list has been deleted
and is no tlonger a valid Address Book Entry. Rather than getting angry, I
just created another distribution list with a slightly different name (RoyS)
and typed it into the "To:" field.

Unfortunately, OL found "Roy" when I typed those letters into the "To"
field, but could not find "RoyS" when I typed that into the "To" field.

Could someone explain how to fix this?

You need to provide more detail so we can tell whether you are using
autocompletion or autoresolution. If I were you, I'd select the DL directly
from the Outlook Address Book.

I think I have a question about both autocompletion and autoresolution. Let
me put the question this way:
I used to have a DL named Roy. I deleted it and made one RoyS. If I type
"Ro" and then press the "enter" key OL puts "Roy" in the field with a plus
sign in front and an underline beneath. It seems as though Autocompletion
has put Roy there and Auto resolution has verified it as a legitimate
address.

However, it is no longer a legitimate address. RoyS is and that one is not
found. I am interested in why. But I am more interested in how to fix it.

You need to provide more detail so we can tell whether you are using
autocompletion or autoresolution. If I were you, I'd select the DL directly
from the Outlook Address Book.

Just remove the old entry from the autocompletion cache. Remove individual
addresses from the autocompletion cache by highlighting the entry when
presented in the suggested names list (use your arrow key to migrate to the
entry) and then hitting your Delete key before you tab out of the field. To
clear the entire cache, follow the instructions here:
