In the right hand corner of what? We don't know your Outlook version. We
don't know the view to which you are referring. We don't know your
information store. Why did you think you posted a question that someone else
could answer?

In Outlook 2007, this is a button with a lock icon on the ribbon.
Hence, you are talking about Outlook 2003 or earlier.
When you share your contacts, checking this checkbox will not allow
others to see this distribution list among your contacts.
It will have no effect otherwise.
