Distro List for OMS (Text Messaging)

Hi,

Have installed an Outlook Messaging Service account for texting. Works fine.

I'm trying to create a distribution list using contacts from our GAL.
However, when I create the list it adds the contact and e-mail address not
their mobile number, and regardless of whether I create a text message or
e-mail, regardless of which account I specify, it always sends to their
e-mail address. How can I change it to use their mobile number (assuming
their mobile number is entered correctly in the mobile number field)?

For ref, if I select contacts from the new Mobile Address Book, then it adds
the contact and their mobile number 'as their e-mail', which effectively
works. However, the downside is this is only created from my personal
contacts. I want to send texts to people in the GAL.

Any help / suggestion people?

You'd have to put those recipients in your own Contacts folder for it to
work.

Really? :-o There's no way to do it with the GAL? That sounds a bit lacking
to me!

In a way, yes. Technically it makes sense though as the Mobile Address Book
basically is the same as the normal Outlook Address Book but only returns
phone numbers instead of email addresses. You'd require a similar filter for
the GAL then which returns phone numbers instead of addresses. It is
possible though by creating your own custom address book service, but
somehow I've got the feeling you're not looking forward to that ;-).

Maybe it is a good suggestion for a next version or a 3rd party could pick
this up?
