DIW database filtering using drop down list

Hi to everyone,

what i want to achieve is to filter my database using a drop down list. I
want the list to get its values only from a field called
birthdate (which has date/time type).
I followed a kb article and have built an asp page(search.asp) but i have 2
problems:

1) how can i put DISTINCT birthdates inside the list
2) what is the initial value i must provide to birthdate
field?(now,date...what?).
Because when my asp page is loaded i got the error:

Database Results Wizard Error
Description: Parameter ?_1 has no default value.
Number: -2147217904 (0x80040E10)
Source: Microsoft JET Database Engine



Any help would be very much appreciated
