Dlookup syntax

Can someone provide me with some quidance on how to write a dlookup formula.
I was able to create on for a form, but I am trying to create one that looks
up a value in one table and returns that value to another table and can't
seem to get it to work. I am confused on when to use the [ ] versus using "
" and ! and &Forms!, etc. etc. Thanks.

Thanks Ken,
That is what I needed to know.

You cannot do this in a table. You must use a form or VBA code.
