Do 2 comp HAVE to use SAME log-in and password f ON2007

There is a phrase in the OneNote shared notebook wizard that is surprising.
Do I really have to set up BOTH the two computers with the EXACT SAME
winxpPro log in+password info? That seems to be a dangerous security problem.
Some people might have issues with their work computer naming convention
requirements. I don't, luckily, because I use my own laptop in my classroom.
But the Department of Education unit I have there has all kinds of issues
with log-ins.

Just checking. I have just started to set up one notebook that will be
available on two computers after using ON to make different notebooks on the
two computers I use regularly. I would use ON2007's syncing only and use a
USB key as the shared cache location.

It makes sense to put this in the wizard. For most home/student
settings, this is probably the easiest way to set it up.
It isn't correct technically though. All you need is appropriate
permissions for the network share (modify permissions). You can either
get those permissions by using the same username and password for two
different computers or by explicitly giving a different user those
rights.
I personally use the username my university assigned me on my own
computers, and the same password for the Windows server in my office as
well as my own two computers. Just much easier than worrying about
assigning permissions between a domain member (the server) and two
computers that are not in any domain.

A USB key as shared cache location? What do you mean?

I may not have used the right term. If I want to carry the file I want to
share from computer to computer, then as long as the computer has OneNote
installed (same version) I can use the file.

I can't seem to even get the two computers at home to seamlessly alolow
access to the two sets of directories. I play with settings for ten minutes
and when it still doesn't work (and you face multiple re-starts) I just say
forget it and grab a key that is always on the school staff ID lanyard and
say, "There's my share."

It should be simpler, but it isn't.
