do i have to install active x control for office update

when I try to install office update it tells me to install active x control
but explorer doesn't recomend it as i have vulnerabilities on my computer how
do I fix it. should I install active x control. Hope you can help me.

Hi Bev,

To use the automatic update checkers from Microsoft you would need to install their ActiveX control. If you prefer not to you can
manually seelct, download and install the updates from the 'Browse downloads' area http://office.microsoft.com/downloads
