Do I have to uninstall my trial software?

I have just bought Microsoft Office. I have been using a one month free trial on my new computer. I want to know whether I can just type in the product key next time I launch Entourage, or whether I have to uninstall the software and start again. I would prefer to continue with what I have already installed, as I have set up all my e-mail accounts, etc.

Normally speaking, I would just have gone ahead and typed in the product key -- but I made the mistake of reading the information that came with the software CD, and it makes a point of saying that you should uninstall any trial versions of the software or you may run into problems...

I would be really grateful if anyone can advise.

Been using computers long?

If it says to uninstall the trial version, then you might want to
uninstall the trial version. How difficult is that to understand?

Uninstalling the trial version will not affect your saved data and
settings, as those are stored in a neutral location (your Documents
folder).
