Do I have to use a RBS?

What is the default behaviour of PS2007 if I do not use a RBS? If for
example I have a small department and everyone needs to look at everyone's
elses projects and resources then can I get away without using one? If I go
down this route do I still have basic security so that Project Manager A
cannot update Project Manager B's data? Thanks in advance.

Unless you need it for reporting, or want to use it to create relationships
between people that you can use in building your security model, then you do
not need to define an RBS.
