Do I need to set up a template?

I'm new to Visio and working with 2003 version. I am doing multiple
documents which all need to have the same things at the top and bottom.
However I cannot do it as a header or footer as they are lines with spaces in
between, each document has a different name...etc. Also each top and bottom
has a macros, one for page numbers (page 1 of 10) and a "last saved" date and
time.

Is there anything I can do short of copying and pasting each line....etc.
I'm talking about what could end up being hundred of pages. I'm willing to
type the document names over and over (or copy and paste them) but getting
the lines correct is doing my head in!

Thank you in advance

To save typing document names, saved dates etc have a look at Fields
in the Insert menu.
Once you have one document done, save it with a new name and the field
information will get updated.

To duplicate pages (100s of times if required) have a look at the
program in my sig below.

The prefered alternate to Headers/Footers is a background page (which is far
more versatile)

As Paul mentioned, you can use Insert Field to add Page Numbers to a
document. This may mean you will not need the macros. Also, a document can
contain a collection of pages.
