First, I use Word 2004 on OS X 10.4.8
I am trying to spell and grammar check a long document. One of my
styles, "Code", is set to "do not check spelling and grammar" because
it is computer code. I have verified this by looking at the Format/
Style/modify/language window, where the box is checked, and seeing
that "do not check spelling and grammar" is written in the the
description of the style provided in the format/style window.
However, the spelling and grammar check has recently started to spell
check all the "code" making for a headache.
"Code" is based on the "normal" style, which is the base style for all
the headings and body text in the paragraph. "normal" is NOT set to
"do not check spelling and grammar" because the regular text needs to
be checked. All text is set to US English. This document is shared
on two other machines, which both use Windows.
I tried copying the entire document into a new blank document, but to
no avail.
Couldn't find this exact problem on the MVP site or in the
newsgroups.
Any advice? thanks Robert Lamb
