Do not display all records, but still calculate totals for all

I am looking to create a report that shows records for a
specific date (ie from Jan - Mar), however, I want to
calculate an overall total for the entire year (Jan-Dec).
In other words, I want to display data only for Jan - Mar,
while calculating from Jan - Dec.
