I have received 30+ emails/day since i posted a question
to this site. All are touted as being from microsoft but
they are not!

each has an .exe file attached but nothing turns up with
my virus scan. and it is 0kb so nothings in it.

Yes, this is where the viruses come from. My virus scan

I, too, have been receiving many emails since posting my
first message last week. However, each email contains
virus' flagged by my ISP!

Any suggestions for stopping them now that they are
arriving????

Hi

It's too late this time around but you should 'hide' your email address on
Newsgroups which doesn't stop you writing and reading replies as they are
all held on the server and you go to get them rather than have them
delivered.

Go into tools, accounts, newsgroups, select the server you use and click on
properties.

Change the last two addresses (put in false ones) but make sure it looks
like an address eg. (e-mail address removed).

If you check properties on this message, you'll see that my address is
(e-mail address removed) which is a false address.

It is preferable to add spamproofing *after* the @. That way it never even
gets to your ISP.
