Do Powerpoint readers work with Audio (and Video) files in slides?

I’m creating a presentation (for a training) that includes audio files (and
possibly video files).

I want to make this presentation available to anyone - on any platform.
Which means that when I save the presentation, I want to be sure that not
only my slides, but also my audio & video will work.

Questions:
1) Will this work?
2) Do I need to save the presentation in a certain format to have these
components work?
3) What readers will my clients need to download in order to view and hear
the presentation without problems?

Just to clarify:
So if I'm going to use Powerpoint w/ audio narration, what I'm really
looking to do is convert a powerpoint presentation to the 'f' thing - and
Camtasia will do that.

Is there a cheaper way to do this?

And, if I was going to make this available on a dvd or cd? - rather than
online - would camtasia that work for this too?
