Do Word Dictionaries transfer on upgrades?

I am converting from Office 2000 to Office 2003 next week and wondered if in
the upgrade process the Word 00 standard and custom dictionaries transfer
automatically to Word 03. If not is there a straight forward way to save and
transfer the data files after the upgrade to Word 03 is completed.

The standard dictionaries will be upgraded to the newer version; however, as
far as I know, the custom dictionaries will be retained, and continue to be
available in the new installation.

However, I would recommend making a backup copy of your custom.dic file (and
any other custom dictionaries) before doing the upgrade, just in case you do
need to restore it after the upgrade.
