Do you want to merge changes

Do you want to merge changes (current open doc) back into
(network drive copy) dialogue box appears (yes no and
cancel) when opening a word document after it has been
sent to a user then sent back to the owner. The owner was
the only one who received the options. How can this
feature be turned off so they don't get the options or
the dialogue box at all ?
