This is probably an accumulation of abandoned temp files. To clean up your
system, periodically follow these steps (assumes that you are using Windows
2000 or XP).
1. Start your computer and do NOT open any applications
2. Use Windows Key + R and type in . and press enter
3. Click on Local Settings then on Temp - this folder should be empty as
it is what the name suggests only a temp folder
4. SelectAll (Ctrl+A) and delete everything

When I open a document I'm getting the message '.doc is
being used by xxxxxxx Do you want to make a copy?". How
do I stop this message from reappearing.
