.doc file won't open

I have a .doc file received via email (OE6) from a
trusted co-worker. Word will not open the file,
returns "document name or path not valid.....etc".
The file is NOT encrypted, nor password protected.
Attachment scanned for virus (Norton current as of
today), none found. As info, when I try to Save the
attachment the only option OE6 gives me is as
an "attachment *.*".

I cannot get Word to open the file even as "Recover From
Any Text".

As info, this has happened before with Word attachments.
Any ideas?

I started having this same error message when I try to open a file that I
created myself. It is a really large file, with a lot of graphics, so my
best guess is that it got too large. Has anyone else had this problem, or
even better-know how to fix it?
