docmd.outputto causes query content to disappear

I'm using MS Access 2002. Using docmd.outputto in code to run a query and
put the results to Excel, the content of the actual query will disappear. It
will initially run okay but after a few iterations, I will lose the query
content and it will fail. Has anyone else experienced this problem and does
anyone have a clue as to how to prevent this from happening. Thanks.
