Docs sent to PC?

Hi there,
I recently sent a Word doc. with graphics in it to my wifes PC
at her work and it was displayed as a two page doc. instead of the one
it was when constructed on my imac. Any ideas? Do you think I need to
re-install it?

Cheers,
John.

Absolutely not! While re-installing software is often used as a panacea
for Windows machines, it rarely helps, and almost never for Macs.
Applications just don't corrupt very often.

What you're seeing is likely a difference between printer drivers. It's
a common problem between platforms, and between machines of the same
platform using different printers or drivers.

You can help make it more likely that the document will print the same
if you limit the fonts you use to those provided by MS.

If you want to ensure that the printout looks the same, save it as a
PDF, which you can do natively with any application in Mac OS X.

Here are some additional tips:

Hi John,

What you are experiencing is not unusual in normal use. What has probably
happened is her printer has different margins which has caused it to reflow
slightly. She should be able to tweak it ever so slightly to whip it back
into shape.

The only surefire, never-miss, automatic method to ensure EXACT reproduction
is to make a PDF (which may or may not fit your purposes).
