Document 1 appears as Document 2

When I first open a document in WORD, it appears on the
WORD icon as Document 5 or some other number instead of
Document 1.

What is the fix for this? Thank you

What's to fix? Word assigns sequential numbers to new documents created in
the course of the Word session. These are arbitrary and have no meaning
anyway. They exist only to give the document a temporary name until you save
the document and give it a real name.

Usually just restarting Windows will take care of this, but it also helps to
clear out temp files. See
