I have Windows XP Home and use office 97. When I open a excel or word doc I get an error note indicating the item is open or in use. For excel it says "A document with the same name '---.xls' is already open. You can not open two documents...". For Word, it says "c:\...\(document name) is being used. Do you want to make copy?
For either one, I can just cancel and get into document, but is annoying.
It started after I refurbished computer with new Motherboard and P4 processor with HT. I cleaned hard drive and reloaded OS (Windows XP) and windows office 97. I have loaded the XP patch 1a. It did not do this with old set up which was the same XP Home and same office 97.
Any ideas
