Hi there all
I am running Office 97 (with office service release2b installed) on Windows
XP Pro(Service Pack 2). I am finding that when opening certain Excel and
certain Word documents that the following message appears after the
particular document has opened - " A document with the name 'docName.xls' is
already open. You cannot open two documents with the same name, even if the
documents are in different folders. To open the second document, either close
the document that's currently open, or rename one of the documents."
There is definately NOT another file of that name open at the time. I think
this error message started creeping in after a recent hard disk replacement
on my machine. I am thinking that there is some issue with documents created
before the hard disk replacement and maybe some issue with the way I
reinstalled Office97 and the Service releases. Can anyone suggest a way
forward here? Note: My PC is standalone - not networked at all. Thanks
