Document automatically changes after save?

A clean new document saves OK. When reopening the next day the font siz
has been changed from 12pt to 10pt and the bottom of the document adds lot
of miscellaneous information on separate lines like "normal, normal, Defaul
Pararagraph Font, Default Paragraph Font, Times New Roman, etc.) If thi
miscellaneous information is deleted it asks when saving if it should b
converted to a standard Word doc. Can close the document and reopen and i
will look OK. When Word is closed and a new session started then all of th
above happens. Is this a virus or what?? -Joh

In the Open dialog box make sure that Files of Type field does not read
"Recover Text From Any File." Change it to Word.Docs or something.

Hi Herman

In the File > Open dialog, open the dropdown labeled "Files of type" and change it from "Recover text from any file" to "Word documents" or "All files".
