I'm using Word 2000 and have noticed that on some documents when I try the
document compare feature, the application goes into not responding mode.
I've left it for over 30 minutes and it doesn't recover. The files are also
only 26kb in size and I have done all the updates on Word through the MS
homepage.
At first, I thought it might be because I was trying on a celeron 500 pc so
I copied the files I wanted to compare onto my laptop, P3 800 with 512 ram
and noticed that the same files also are not responding.
Some files I seem to be able to use document compare, while others I can't.
Any thoughts on why that would be and how I can get the tool to work with
all files.
