Document Control

We are currently working on ISO 9000 certification and we
want to make available documents online. The question has
been asked can we allow the users to view the documents
and not allow them to save or print using Word.

The only solution is to convert the documents to PDF
format, using Adobe Acrobat or another PDF convertor. You
can prohibit both printing the document and copying text
or graphics. (You can also restrict opening of some or
all of the documents by using a password in each
restricted document.)

There is no way to prevent copying a file that I am aware
of that still allows reading.

Word offers no workable mechanism to prevent copying and
changing. The PDF solution eliminates the problem,
documents may be created from ANY package that can print,
the documents are viewable on any platform, and under any
OS (including Palm). (The reader is also free, and may
legally be freely distributed.)
