document event handler for document(s) in frameset

I am trying to catch a document close event on a document of type
wdNewFrameset.
What happens is that the template is automatically set to Normal, the
document doesn't even occur in the Documents list anymore. No document
event handler of the framset document or any of the documents in the
frameset is called at any time.
Is this a word bug or can I code around that to allow for some custom
code once the frameset or any of the frameset documents are about to
be closed?
