Hi all
I am in serious trouble regarding deadlines after my PowerPoint presentation
text formatting was changed when I replaced an Office 2008 Trial (downloaded
off Mactopia.com) with a Home Edition for 2008.
I first downloaded and installed Office 2008 off the Mactopia website
because I could not find my Home & Student Edition CD. I had a copy of the
License Keys available on computer but not the CD.
I thought the download would be same version just different licensing.
However the Home & Student Edition license did not work so had to use it as
a trial until yesterday when I at last found the CD.
Then I removed the Office 2008 and installed the Home Edition off CD. This
all went well and I applied all the updates available so taking it to
12.2.3. All applications opened fine and documents opened.
However, on closer examination a PPT file from business partner (he doesn't
have 2008 so we work in 2004 format) and changed in the 2008 Trial version
does not look correct when opened in the newly installed Home Edition 2008.
I have referenced an old copy, which was not changed in the Trial 2008
version and the latest copy that has been.
All tables are flowing off the page and the text appears to have greater
kerning or tracking, although the font and paragraph formatting are same for
both files.
What has happened? This is going to take me hours and probably affected all
other presentations I have worked since I started the Trial.
Please, if you know how I can fix the problem then I appreciate your help.
Regards
Craig.
