Document Formatting displaying in Document

L

Lisa

I'm using Word 20000. When I open a document in Word,
using File, Open (or click on the Open file icon in the
toolbar), all documents are displaying the formatting of
the document. For example, FILENAME\p shows at the bottom
of the document along with with information pertaining to
paragraph font, footnote reference, header, footer, the
the file location. It also displays the printer
information along with the document properties.

However, if I open the document through My Computer or
Windows Explorer, the document appears just fine on the
screen.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2K.

Any suggestions?
