Document hangs up

Hello,

I have a Word document that I keep a listing of several hundred menus I've
tried. I just got a new computer and now when I try to use the find feature
in this one particular document it always hangs up at the same place and
won't finish searching the document. I've tried searching for different
words within the document and the document always freezes while I'm
searching. An example is that I'm searching for the word "pork" or "shrimp"
or anything else for that matter. It just bothers me that I can't use the
document and I have a brand new Dell computer. I'd sure like to know how to
fix this issue. I do need to have things explained in simple terms. I'm no
expert.

I keep getting the messge officelifeboathang, P1: winword.exe,
P2:12.0.6308.5000, P3: kernel32dll, P4: 5.1.26005512

A number of us have been seeing problems with tables in Word 2007 causing
similar problems. Are the menus in tables?

You might try saving the document in rtf format, closing it, then reopening
and saving in Word format to see if that fixes the problem.

Or, as a work-around--assuming the document doesn't hang up--you might try
saving the file as a pdf and using either Acrobat or Foxit (an Adobe
alternative) to peruse the menu file when you're using it as a source of
information rather than editing it.
