Document hidden under toolbar - please help

B

Beth/David (26D)

This is probably such a simple fix, but it's making me crazy:

I have Word set up with the standard toolbar at the top, and the
Formatting toolbar below that.

Every time I open a document the top of the document is hidden
underneath the Formatting toolbar. This didn't always happen.
Recently I clicked on something - I don't know what - and started to
have this problem.

I've tried closing the Formatting toolbar and opening it again. No
change. If I add another toolbar - say the Contacts toolbar - the
document slides down a notch and I can see the whole document, but the
Contacts Toolbar is on top of the Formatting toolbar. If I close the
Contacts toolbar, I see the Formatting toolbar once again, but the top
of the open document slides up underneath the Formatting toolbar.

Okay, you get the idea. How do I fix this - can anyone help?

Many thanks,
SherMus

Your problem is most likely one of "what ya see ain't what ya got" - IOW, it
may *look* like it but your Standard & Formatting toolbars are not actually
docked to th bottom edge of the Menu Bar.

Drag each bar to the middle of the window, then drag the one you want at the
top back until it "snaps" to the bottom of the Menu Bar. Drag the other up
until it "snaps" to the bottom edge of the first. That should resolve it --
you'll see the doc window adjust as you do.

Should that _not_ resolve it post back for other suggestions.

Another possibile fixer is to go to the Window menu and select
ArrangeAll. That usually resizes the document window a little better.
