Document Image Writer needs to work in Windows XP (x64).

I am using Office Pro 2003, OneNote 2003 on Windows XP (x64). The 'Document
Image Writer' does not work on XP (x64) - it needs to be re-written for (x64).

The lack of the 'Document Image Writer' precludes the inserting documents as
images in OneNote. This means that I can no longer track important documents
in OneNote since they can only be inserted as a link and not as a readable
document.

The 'Document Image Writer' needs to be rewritten.

Hi Larry,

Office 2003 was not written for 64 bit operating systems. This article is Microsoft's position on Office 2003 use on Windows 64
bit.

Bob -

I realize that this is their current position.

However, the only element of Office 2003 that doesn't work in the (x64)
operating system is the 'Document Image Writer' and it should be re-written.
Currently, this cripples not only Office 2003 but it's interaction with a
whole host of MS & other programs.

If enough people support this, then perhaps MS will reconsider their
position.

"Microsoft supports running the versions of Office 2003 and of Office XP that
are listed in the "More Information" section in the 32-bit layer of 64-bit
versions of Windows"

Seems to me the document writer would be 'supported' since it's part of
Office 2003. It's just a printer driver...

This appears to be the case with Office 2007 also. Isn't Office a common
Microsoft product? Seems weird that Microsoft still maintains this position.
It is the first product I usually install after the OS and the last I would
expect not be writen for 64 bit or at least all of it's features supported in
64 bit.
