Document Imaging Problems

I receive faxes daily and view and print through Document Imaging.
Sometimes, not always, I get the message that the image cannot be viewed in
Document Imaging. I "save" the fax (it will only save as a TIFF file. I
have tried to convert to another extension, but am having no luck. Can
someone tell me in simple English what to do about this. The documents are
being faxed to me from a "regular" fax machine. Dell couldn't help, they sent
me to the posting from Microsoft, and it tells me to convert my documents. I
am clueless. Please help!

Pardon me, but can't the image be corrupted? Have you tried another image
vieing application such as ACDSee (see at download.com) ?

Why would the image be corrupted? It is a simple black and white document.
Will try to find ACDSee. Will let you know. Thanks for responding.

I found the application, but have not downloaded yet. Really wanted to avoid
that.
