WIN98/Office XP/Document Imaging error: in scanning documents via Office doc
imaging the program returns a "SERVER THREW AN EXCEPTION" error message and
won't transfer ocr'd tif into WORD.
I've found no info on this error other than a generic post on an .edu
website that said "it might be a virus scanner induced error." It's not.
Happens with or w/o virus scanner running. Just upgraded from Umax astra
w/vistascan drivers to an newer Epson Photo 2400. Everything works fine; doc
imaging checked scanner and said it was compatible, but this problem recurs
everytime I scan a doc and try to transfer it into WORD. SOMETIMES I can
reboot and MAYBE after 3 or 4 tries it will export the doc to WORD, but it's
an annoying glitch when you've got dozens of docs to do.
Ideas? No info in MS knowledge base that I could find ... in fact, couldn't
find anything on doc imaging.
